In a memorable display of national pride, the Senior Class of 2025 marked their final Civic Week with an inspiring independence dance. Each year, this annual event brings together students, teachers, and families to celebrate El Salvador's independence, reminding everyone of the pride, resilience, and rich culture that define the nation. The celebration, held at La Floresta, combined the spirit of unity, tradition, and patriotism in a beautiful homage to El Salvador.

Civic Week is a longstanding tradition, celebrated each September to commemorate El Salvador’s independence on September 15, 1821. During this time, students are encouraged to reflect on the values, heritage, and achievements that define the Salvadoran identity. This year, students from each grade level participated in various activities throughout the week, but the grand finale belonged to the seniors.

Adding a personal touch to the ceremony our master of ceremonies Grabiela Zepda, invited three seniors to take the stage to share their thoughts on Salvadoran pride. Ana Paola Alfaro and Loren Liliana Campos, students who shared their passion for literature, delivered heartfelt poems, weaving metaphors and imagery to depict the beauty  that is our country and the cultural wealth of El Salvador. Their words painted vivid scenes of lush landscapes, vibrant cityscapes, and the strength of Salvadoran heritage, leaving the audience in awe.

Following, Daniela Michelle Sarmiento took the microphone to share a personal essay. She spoke with unwavering pride about her connection to her homeland, capturing the audience with her message. Her words struck a chord, reinforcing the unbreakable bond between each Salvadoran and their beloved country.

For the seniors, this day was more than a celebration; it was a moment of realization. Wearing the traditional costumes and performing on their last Civic Week made the experience unforgettable. Many of them will carry memories of this day, preserving the outfits and trinkets from the event as memories of their final school year.

The energy among the students and attendees was remarkable, as laughter, pride, and the occasional tears filled the air. The ceremony concluded with a final salute to the flag, accompanied by a sense of accomplishment and collective pride. Each student left with a renewed appreciation for their heritage and an understanding of the importance of honoring it.

The 2025 Senior Class's final Civic Week celebration will be remembered as an inspiring testament to the strength of Salvadoran identity. Through song, dance, and powerful words, they reminded their peers of the beauty and responsibility that come with being Salvadoran. As they embark on their journeys beyond school, the seniors carry with them the pride, lessons, and memories of this unforgettable day.
