The grand Super Bowl, the most famous sporting event in America, took place this past Sunday, February 9th, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Every year, millions of people eagerly wait for this huge event since is an annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), where the winners of the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) face off. This highly anticipated event is held in February primarily due to the structure of the NFL season. The season starts in early September and runs through late December, later on following the playoffs in January. This is why the Super Bowl is programmed on the second Sunday in February.
As many people may know, The Superbowl is one of the most watched sports events globally. This means that this traditional event attracts millions of viewers each year, plus, in the U.S it has become a cultural phenomenon where people most likely reunite to spend a great time with families and friends. the Superbowl is also known as “Superbowl Sunday”. Besides, what also calls the attention is the Halftime Show, which features performances by top artists and elaborate productions. As well as commercials are extremely famous in this grand event, becoming truly expensive due to the demand of the occasion.
In last year’s Super Bowl played on February 11th, the Kansas City Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers in a highly competitive match. Before both teams faced off on the field, there were pregame performers including Reba McEntire who sang the national anthem, Andra Day and Post Malone. The last year’s Half-time show was performed by Usher, who sang his most popular songs such as “Super Star”, “Love in this Club”, “Confessions Part II” and more. Alicia Keys was the special guest in that past event which sang “If I Ain’t Got You” wearing a stunning red shimmering jumpsuit. The game was challenging for both teams, but the Chiefs took the lead and secured their victory, finishing the score 25-22. They became the first NFL team since 2004 to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
Before this 2025 Super Bowl, The Postseasons took place and were divided in three important rounds. The first round known as “Wild Cards” was held from the 11th to the 13th of January. Through that round, the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, and the Washington Commanders were victorious.
Later on in the second round named as “The Divisional Round” took place the 18th and 19th of January. In this round the winners were the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ultimately, the third and last stage occurred, which was called “The Conference Championship” that unfolded on the 26th of January. The victorious teams throughout this stage were the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, which later on in the 9th of February, both will face each other at the Super Bowl.
This 2025 Super Bowl 59th edition was a particular one, since as we know the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Philadelphia Eagles at the match. This unforgettable edition of the sporting event was graced by the presence of well-known figures like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Anne Hathaway, Serena Williams and Donald Trump who all watched the game.

The first half of the event was an intense and thrilling showdown between both teams. The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, showcased their offensive, later giving several passes to Xavier Worthy and Juju Smith. However, the Eagles responded with a much stronger defense and efficient plays by Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley creating a significant lead. By the end of the first half, the Eagles were leading the game with a score of 24-0.
Later on, Samuel L. Jackson introduced the half-time show, who was dressed as Uncle Sam. Suddenly, the lights turned off and the spotlight went directly to the famous Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, who took the stage at the Super Bowl 59. Kendrick performed a total of 10 songs, featuring hits as “Squabble Up”, “Humble” , “R&B” and “All the stars” with SZA and his most famous one, “Not Like Us”, showing Drake’s feud making history in a huge event.

Afterwards, the game continued with a great excitement for the Philadelphia fans since the Eagles maintained their dominance over the Chiefs. The Eagles’ defense remained strong, blocking mentally the Chiefs and not bringing a significant comeback. Saquon and Jane Hurts continued to shine through the game, Hurts being able to do 3 touchdowns.
Despite the effort from the Chiefs, they couldn’t do much. The final score was 40-22, Philadelphia Eagles taking the victory, Hurts winning the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award.
In the post-game interviews, Super Bowl 2025 MVP Jalen expressed his immense gratitude for his team’s performance, plus highlighting his hard work and dedication in the sport. He said “For 364 days of the year, you work day-in and day-out — blood, sweat and tears — just for one moment and that's to hold that trophy.

The shocking results about the Eagles victory showcased their hard work and resilience, making this 2025 event an unforgettable chapter in NFL history.
